Stixlink golf tournaments are based on Chicago or Stableford-style quota scoring system where each hole played is scored (aces, eagles, birdies, pars, bogeys, etc) with a point value determined by the tournament organizer at setup.
Each golfer carries a quota that is based on their handicap and the course/tees that they play - using USGA handicapping rules and calculations. The first round quotas of all Stixlink golf tournaments are based on
each golfer's current handicap index. After the first round, the prior round performance is used to determine the current round quota depending upon the golf course and tees played. Each round may have a positive
(quota goes up) or negative (quota goes down) adjustment depending if the net points earned for the prior round was positive or negative.
At this time, all Stixlink golf tournaments are by invitation only. The easiest way to get started is to organize your own Stixlink golf tournament for you and your friends. To get started follow these three easy steps:
Stixlink will send your friend an invitation via email along with links to download the Stixlink App if they don't have it already. Once your friend accepts the invitation, their status will change from Pending (P) to Active. Anyone who has been invited to play in your golf tournament may invite others to play. If your friend declines the invitation you will see a 'D' next to their name in the leaderboard.
Playing in a Stixlink golf tournament is easy. Stixlink only requires the Course Name, Course Slope and Course Rating (for the tees that you played) so no complicated score-card entry is necessary and Stixlink remembers the last course you played. To enter your round:
Once you have entered in all of your scores, click the Post Score button at the top-right of the screen. Stixlink takes care of the rest and calculates your course-handicap, quota, adjusted gross score, net score and net points. You can view your current standings on the Leaderboards screen after posting your round.
Winning is easy. Play all rounds in a golf tournament, and have the highest point total among all competitors and you win! Hit them long and straight!
Create custom Chicago or Stableford-style quota based golf tournaments configuring start date, end date, points for scoring and per-round adjustments. Stixlink allows golfers of all handicaps to compete together!
Once your golf tournament is configured, or you have accepted an invitation to play in a Stixlink golf tournament, invite your friends to join the fun. Simply choose their contact from your Address Book or enter in an email address. Stixlink takes care of the rest!
Use the Message Center to keep up with all of the players and events in a tournament. Stixlink will auto-generate messages when players post scores, and every player may send messages to all players in the tournament. A great way to stay connected to your Stixlink competitors!
See who is in the lead or size up your competition using the leaderboard view for each golf tournament you are competing in. View your average ranking, net, gross and point scoring for all golf tournaments.
Each golfer must enter a valid USGA Handicap Index in order to compete in a Stixlink golf tournament. With Stixlink, each golfer may compete on different courses at different times!
Stixlink is easy to learn and use, but when you need help it's only a click away. Visit the Contact page to get in touch with a member of our Support Team.
